On October 26 2014 the Openbaar Museum (OMU) opens 'it's doors' to the public and will present artworks in public space, with the intention of making contemporary art accessible to everyone. The Openbaar Museum is located at a former social housing complex by the architect Gustave Fierens awaiting renovations in 2016.
I am working on an installation entitled Widowed Paintings & Painted Windows. The work consists out of a vitrine containing two technical drawings and alludes to the building's sealed windows and a painting by Mark Rothko which was lost in transit.
The other participants are Pol Matthé, Rinus Van de Velde, Guy Rombouts, Frederik Lizen, Timo Van Grinsven, Rufus Michielsen, Bram Van Bree, Lenny Wuyts, Neel De Bruycker, Frederic Verlinden, Benjamin Verdonck, Sharon Van Overmeiren, Amber Vanluffelen, Bram Van Meervelde.
